Ole Pete Key Inc. Workshops
- DYD Keynote (General Session) (Dramatization)
The DYD Crew will tap into every emotion by using drama, motivation and music to educate, enlighten and entertain the audience. The audience will laugh, cry, and most of all be inspired to examine their personal journey after seeing the results of people who have made poor decisions. They will also hear and see stories of people who have experienced challenging childhoods of verbal and sexual abuse, neglect, Foster Care, drug abuse, and alcoholism. The audience will be encouraged and equipped with words that will give them hope in what appears to be a hopeless world. - DYD (Determine Your Destiny) Breakout Session
This workshop will educate participants on the 4 P’s to Progress (Picture, Plan, Prepare, and Pursue). The participants learn how to turn obstacles into opportunities and struggles into strength to succeed. We use skill building exercises that will assist the audience in navigating through life from where they are to where they are destined to be. - The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
This Breakout session explores the dangers of drugs, alcohol, sex, and abortion. It describes the good, the bad, and the ugly teenagers face on a daily basis. The panel consists of teenagers that willing share their journey. These teens have made some good and some bad decisions along the way and are willing to share their story with others. There will also be some teens on the panel that have avoided some of the pitfalls in life and they are willing to share their secrets to avoiding some of life’s obstacles. - You Got to Reach Them to Teach Them
This session equips teachers, parents, administrators, nurses, youth pastors, community leaders as well as peer educators with tools to effectively reach and teach the youth. Participants will learn ways to meet young people where they are the way they are. It also shows how sometime adults have great messages but the method to deliver the message is not effective. It discusses cultural diversity and how to relate to all youth so no child is left behind when it comes to character and integrity issues. - It’s Never Too Late
This workshop deals with the void that children feel from not having a father figure. This workshop incorporates a drama presentation on three generations of absent fathers. It will help youth and adults break the cycle of the absent father in their life, and show them how to go from hurting to healing and from healing to helping. It will also help single parents understand the need of a positive male role model in a child’s life - Pass the Point of Fear
This workshop deals with overcoming abusive childhood, struggling through a turbulent adolescence, and searching for answers. It will inspire you beyond belief when you hear the story of how this young lady overcame and past her point of fear to become successful. - Affects of the absentee father. The workshop combined with the monologue is design to help participates break the cycle and begin the process of forgiveness. Men will be equipped with tools to advance from the pre-contemplation stage with no intent to change into the awareness stage to begin preparing to change and take actions. Participants will learn the importance of a father or father figure in a child’s life, and the potential damages a child may face if they’re not involved.
